China's 4G base stations exceed 2 million, 4G subscribers reach 500 million
Miao Wei, minister of MIIT said at the 1st Global 5G Event held in this week that China has constructed the largest 4G network in the world with over 2 million 4G base stations and over 500 million 4G subscribers after years of hard work.
Miao Wei pointed out 5G will largely improve mobile Internet user experience. On one side, 5G will directly facilitate a significant leap in mobile communication technologies and products as well drive the development in chip, software and other fields; on the other side, 5G will be applied in industry, healthcare, transportation and other industries innovatively, developing new formats in Internet industry and car networking.
